About the Snake Canyon Canyoning tour
Hidden in the Hajar mountains near Wadi Bani Awf, Snake Canyon is Oman’s best-known canyoning route: a narrow gorge of polished rock, clear pools and natural water slides. Your driver collects you in Muscat for the mountain drive, and an experienced canyoning guide takes over at the canyon.
After a safety briefing and fitting of helmet, harness, life jacket and wetsuit, you descend the gorge: three rappels (the longest about 20 metres, suitable for beginners), swims from pool to pool, rock slides and optional small jumps. Halfway there is a snack stop at a wide pool, and the day ends with dry clothes and a traditional Omani lunch in a local village.
