About the Nizwa, Bahla & Jabrin Forts tour
Nizwa was once Oman’s capital, and its fort — with a massive round gun tower — still watches over the old town. The souq next door sells pottery, halwa, dates and silver, and on Friday mornings the famous livestock auction takes place.
Nearby, the mud-brick walls of Bahla Fort are listed by UNESCO, and Jabrin Castle is known for its carved doors and painted wooden ceilings.
