About the Jabal Akhdar tour

The day pairs Nizwa — its fort and souq — with Jabal Akhdar, which rises steeply from the plains to a cool plateau of villages, terraces and orchards. Walk between hamlets along the terraces, look over the canyon edges and see how farming has been done here for centuries.

In spring the terraces are known for their roses, distilled into rose water, and in late summer for pomegranates.
